Point Requirement
Each player will have an established point requirement. This requirement is determined by one or more members of the MGA Board Of Directors (BOD). The BOD uses previous dog fight performance, and current handicap, to determine each player’s requirement.
|
Point Adjustment
Point requirements are adjusted before each play day. Each player’s best five dog fight rounds, from his last 10 dogfight rounds, are averaged to determine his requirement. Until the first 5 rounds are played, the player’s initial point requirement is counted as ‘rounds played.’ For example, Joe Golfer has a requirement to pull 24 points. In his first round, Joe pulls 28 points. For the second round Joe is required to pull 25 points ((24+24+24+24+28) / 5).
|
First 5 Round Limits
For his first 5 rounds, no player may score more than +2 for the cash payout. To better determine the point requirement for the player, his total points will be used for averaging. For example, Joe’s requirement is 24 on one of his first five rounds. He pulls 27, but is limited to 26 for the daily payout.
|
Max Allowable Points Below Requirement
Throughout the dogfight season, each player is limited to –3 per day for averaging purposes. For example, Joe’s requirement is 24. He only pulls 18, but 21 points is used to help determine his next round requirement.

Rules of Play
All play is according to USGA rules. There are no mulligans or preferred lies. Root, rock, and divot relief is only allowed as indicated by the rules of golf (unplayable lie). When weather conditions require preferred lies, a MGA BOD member will make the call and inform all players simultaneously. If a MGA BOD member is not present, the on-duty club professional is allowed to make the call.
|
Score Cards
Upon completion of play, all score cards are turned in to the MGA BOD member or club professional on duty. The club professionals will enter all MGA event scores into the GHIN computer. Please adjust scores prior to turn-in.
